I’ve been clean-shaven for much of the past eight years or so. Now that my beard comes in mostly silver, it’s not so fun anymore. It just makes me look older; not as old as Santa, but older than I used to look. And yet, sometimes I get really tired of shaving. How many thousands of times have I scraped my face across the past 28 or so years? When is enough, enough?
I also couldn’t wait to drive, and now I would love to not have to own a car. I couldn’t wait to graduate from college, and now I’d love to be a lifelong student.
And I couldn’t wait for Christmas Day, but when it came and went there was sort of a letdown. The build-up was much better than the event itself.
Each day is precious and in motion! The people right in front of you are the most important in the world. There is no time to waste pining for a different time. It’s always the most wonderful time of the year, if you seize the moment.
